simple, free, cross platform sound editor. think of soundforge or the steinberg one. i keep forgetting what that one was called. dam.. i have been out of this for a REALLY long time..

this is a program that will let you cut mp3’s into pieces. this is really useful for a couple of projects i am working on in the podcast arena..
