haunted bridge, ashland, ohio..
please note! this is a scaled down version of the original photo… the original is about twice this size.. click on the photo to see it full size..
this is the a bridge somewhere on the backroads of where i live. i have heard from a bunch of folks that this bridge is haunted. altough i have heard several stories of how it works, the gist is:
- pull up to the bridge at night.
- turn your lights off
- honk the horn three times
if you do it just right, and your mouth is pointed just right, the ghost of a woman will come to chase you off.
i have not tried it yet, just because everyone i have asked is too much of a chicken or a baby to go with me.. but if someone would go, i would definitely try it..
there is a series of books called “haunted ohio” that lists a bunch of places that are haunted and within reach of me in an afternoon.. my goal is to find as many of these places possible and photograph them..
come to think of it, i would do the horn at the bridge trick on my own, but if the ghostly lady DID come out and chase me off, i would have no proof..

Hey Serg! I’d go with you! I love that shite! I drug Cristy over to the witches ball over in Medina to debunk the theory that it’s warm in the winter. I had gone to the thing when I was a kid and it worked. Maybe it’s juice is gone. Maybe the spirit moved on. Maybe Cristy and I SCARED the spirit!?!? We do have that affect on people. At any rate. This is right up my alley

Hey I highly suggest that you DO NOT go to this place! I just graduated from AU this past May and in Jan 06 a group of my friends went to the tunnel to do a television segment about haunted places for the campus tv station…but we never got to do that. To make a long story short…we tested the legend that if your pull in to the tunnel, car and lights off and put the car in nutral the car should be pushed or pulled through the tunnel. I was video taping and I felt something push down on the camera…after i said i wanted to leave my friend driving screamed and floored it out or the tunnel. We find out when we get back he was scratched all across his chest, blood and everything. We also had a small audio recorder adn after playing it back there was a voice that said “you don;t belong here leave.” I made a 30 min documentary out of the whole ordeal (i was a video major) but this is some serious shit and I still have trouble sleeping sometimes. Any questions or for a copy of the documentary($7) get at me.

I was looking for somewhere kinda close to Medina to take my brother to while he is in town. Maybe we won’t go though, my infant son would be in the car. My brother and my mom can go by themselves. you should definately compile pictures and info on this page. We would be interested in any other stories of hauntings in Ohio if anyone has any. Or Pennslyvania too.

i have an idea for this..
we have recently done a new site that maps out independent restaurants to help diners find places to eat that are off the beaten path..
you can see it here:
http://www.TheresThisPlace.om
it would really not be hard at all to rework this into a site for hauntings..
let me know if there is any interest in me doing this…
thanks!

I used to go to Ashland U too. The story I heard was pretty much the same, that some woman supposedly hung herself there way back when. And with the honking, she’ll either chase you out, or you’ll hear her scream.
Anyway, over the course of four years, I’ve probably been there maybe a few dozen times. Nothing weird or paranormal ever happened. But it is worth checking out. You should go. It can be tricky to find; you might try looking for it in the day first so you don’t get turned around on those back roads. It’s also less creey then.
That’s an awesome shot by the way. I love it.

Haunted tunnels and bridges are all over Ohio. It’s hard to throw a stone here without hitting a haunted place! But it’s the one benefit of living in Ohio (and sometimes, the only benefit).
Sounds like a place I’ll have to look into some time. Oh, and if you find out about the documentary mentioned in the comments, please let me know too! I’m always looking for new places to check out… and even blog about…

I have a paranormal team in ashland i’ve been doing this for over 20 yrs.& all i can say is that if there is any thing at the tunnel its a residual haunting.
