the amityville horror..
a friend and i were looking at the entry for the amityville horror on wikipedia and i started to wonder if i could find it on mapquest.. lo and behold, you can!
i would just give you the link, but there is a problem with it. for whatever reason, b2evolution hates the link, so go to:

and put this address in:
112 ocean ave amityville ny
and you should find it..
anyway, i started to wonder how far away the house is from my house. hell, if i knew someone near the house, i would ride out there, and spend the night. for those curious types, it’s a little over 500 miles.. not too far..
then, i remembered that you can zoom in in satellite mode to get a better view.. lo and behold, i THINK i found the house!
is there someone out there that can verify that this is in fact the amityville horror house?

If you click on the photo link of the house on the wikipedia entry, you’ll notice that the address has been changed from 112 to 108. So looking at your picture above, the house directly above the house you have marked would be the Amityville Horror house.

the house marked is 112.. so i am guessing that the house that looks like the amityville hose is the real deal..

i should also note that the house i am referring to is the house NEXT to the marked house… UP from it..

You are close, the reason that the address marker appears in the wrong place, is that the street was renumbered by the village of Amityville. “The House” is now #108.
The sidways-facing house with the really small yard and the boathouse in the back is the DeFeo house. I live about 10 minutes away.
